Module 9-Exploring Line

Using my hand as subject matter for a drawing was a little difficult. When i draw, i like to have both hands available to hold my sketchbook, hold the paper steady, and just to hold myself steady. So, not having my hand available, due to it holding a pose, was a little frustrating for me.

I used sketching pencils as my medium. I did not use charcoal because i do not have much experience with it, and i would like to experiment with it before i do a full blown drawing.

It was a little weird creating a drawing with my non-dominant hand as i did not have steady, controlled movements with that hand and then i tried to create a detailed drawing, needless to say, it was a little funny as well.

Although i am not much of a drawer, both of my sketches were actually pretty good. when i used my dominant hand, you could see many good lines and get a good idea of what kind of lines are on a hand. with my non-dominant, you could still see some lines, not as good as my dominant hand though. I think that my dominant hand drawing was a successful study; i cannot say the same for my non-dominant hand.

I would definitely like to continue using my non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future, also, to get more ambidextrous.
